Hey Designers!
A handful of creators from the Kolder Creative community have just posted their 'KC My Year 2024' challenges, and let me tell you, the level of creativity and passion they've put into their projects is inspiring. The challenge, hosted by Sam Kolder, has got people reflecting on their year so far and pushing their goals to new heights. Even though we're only a few months into the year, the energy from these videos is an excellent reminder that it's never too late to start making those big moves toward your dreams!
One of the first stories that stuck with me was from Manu. She left behind a steady job as a tennis coach to chase filmmaking full-time. No plan B, just full send. You can feel the risk in her voice—but also the excitement. Her video captures that scary but thrilling part of chasing something you care about, especially when you're starting from scratch. If you’ve ever thought about quitting your “safe” path, Manu’s journey feels like the nudge you didn’t know you needed.
Then there’s Josiah, who opened up about the chaos of trying to do everything—work, learn, create—and feeling like he was falling behind anyway. His video isn’t flashy, it’s reflective. He talks about how the little wins, like a good convo in Japanese or making a video he’s proud of, started to mean more than chasing some big finish line. It’s the kind of perspective shift that sneaks up on you and sticks.
Matteo's film was wild—in the best way. He spent the year traveling across Europe, working with big brands, living on a yacht, and making new friends worldwide. But what made it hit even harder was how real he got about the burnout, the sacrifices, and the loneliness that came with it. He reminded me that growth isn’t always pretty, and success doesn’t mean you’re not struggling behind the scenes.
Daniel’s entry felt like the calm in the storm. His focus was all about being intentional—with his time, his health, his faith, his relationships. He broke his year into rhythms and used that structure to dial into what mattered most. It wasn’t just about big wins; it was about becoming the man he wanted to be long-term. Honestly, that one made me rethink how I spend my mornings.
Watching these creators share their journey through 2024 has been a huge motivation for me, and I hope it sparks the same energy for you. Whether it's stepping out of comfort zones or putting in the work behind the scenes, it's a great reminder that we all have the power to make this year count. There's still time left, and it's all about showing up for your goals, taking action, and pushing forward, no matter where you're at right now.
